Band Boosters

How many band parents does it take…

Booster Membership

Parents, if you have a child enrolled in any band program at Broomfield High School, not only are you awesome for supporting and encouraging your child’s music interests, you’re already a band booster! Students in any of the Broomfield band programs, not only are you the beating heart of the these programs, you’re also boosters! Alumni, like the slogan made famous by an Italian-American casual dining chain, “When you’re here, you’re family!” We encourage any adult family members (e.g. grandparents, aunts, uncles), siblings, friends, or community members to join us and provide support.

Membership support from the band boosters benefits the BHS band programs and the students in many different ways. Like nearly all band programs, we are fully self-funded, and rely heavily on fundraisers, donations, and volunteer support throughout the year to make the music happen. The boosters handle many tasks such as operations, moving props and front ensemble equipment, providing food during competitions, transportation and communications — allowing the band staff to focus their attention on the students and instruction. Volunteers are also able to spend time with the students and admire their progress and development first hand.

Broomfield Band Parents Association

The Broomfield Band Parents Association (BBPA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization whose mission is to provide logistical, moral, and financial support to the Broomfield High School band programs for students grades nine through twelve. It consists of parents, family, friends, alumni, and community members who support the Broomfield Band programs such as marching band, concert band, and jazz band, as well as extracurricular activities including Broomfield Winter Percussion and Broomfield Winter Guard.

We raise money to purchase musical instruments and pay for repairs, marching uniforms and concert wear, sheet music and drill, transportation to performances and competitions, financial assistance to students and instruction costs. Our budget for the 2023-2024 school year is $65,000.

We work hand in hand with the band director, school administration, and the BVSD Board of Education so that the band programs at Broomfield High School can be maintained with the highest standards of excellence.

The BBPA holds monthly meetings that are open to the public. The schedule for these meetings will be on the events calendar, along with with scheduled rehearsals, competitions, performances, fundraisers, and other important dates. If you’d like to get involved with the band boosters, contact any of the board members listed below.
