The Vision

The Broomfield High School band program aims to create a vibrant and inclusive community where students from all backgrounds can come together to cultivate a passion for music and unleash their artistic potential. Every one of our programs is dedicated to fostering experiences that nurture an individual’s talents while building strong, collaborative bonds among our student members.

The Mission

Our Ensembles

The Broomfield High School band program currently offers the following ensembles for students:

  • A co-curricular part of the core band program at BHS, along with Concert Band. Marching band practice begins during the summer with music rehearsals and band camp. Regular show performances occur during half-time of home football games, with competitions occurring through the end of October.

  • A co-curricular part of the core band program at BHS, along with Marching Band. Concert band begins near the end of marching season, with regularly scheduled performances occurring throughout the school year.

  • An extra-curricular part of the band program at BHS, Jazz Band is a scheduled class interested students must fit into their schedule. Students do not need to be registered for another band class in order to participate in Jazz Band.

  • Students may be assigned to perform at basketball games and other designated events by the band director. Pep band rehearsals will be after school or before events as needed.

  • An extra-curricular part of the band program at BHS, the Indoor Percussion ensemble provides a competitive performance program for music students during the winter and spring seasons, when concert band traditionally occurs. Any student in the school is eligible to be in the Indoor Percussion ensemble. Practices are held outside of normal school hours, with competitions occurring from February to April.

  • An extra-curricular part of the band program at BHS, the Winter Guard ensemble provides a competitive performance program for guard students during the winter and spring seasons. Any student in the school is eligible to be in the Winter Guard ensemble. Practices are held outside of normal school hours, with competitions occurring from January to April.
